The children have recently been very interested in playing with the sea creatures and reading stories to do with under the sea. We expanded on this by reading one of their favourite books 'Tiddler', then setting up the tuff tray with the sea creatures and other different textures that the children can explore and we supported their learning.

We welcomed Frances and the Bookstart bear for a visit to our setting on the 18th of October to explore literacy in a new way. 

Frances read to the children a range of stories and the bear danced as we sang nursery rhymes and played hide and seek with the children! 

As our community know we hold early accessibility to books as key factor in our ethos to build happy and confident children. This opportunity has prompted the team to look at inviting readers into setting to engage the children in a wider range of storytelling and literature.

The children have settled well, as has our new member of staff Julie.

We are looking forward to opening our stay and play sessions now the children have settled and finding more ways to link with the community this year. 

We are delighted to publish our recent Ofsted report after an inspection in June 2019 where received a 2 (Good) with the following findings:
